How Much Does It Cost to Book Live Talent?

Most live talent in the UK and EU sits between £300 and £5,000 per booking, with well-known acts running into five or six figures. Travel, accommodation, sound, and overtime are almost always extra — budget 15–25% on top of the headline fee.

  • Overtime — often charged in 30-minute increments

"A £2,000 fee can land at £2,600 once you add travel, hotel, and a 30-minute encore. Always ask for an all-in number on the same brief."

Where the money goes

A working artist's fee covers more than the time on stage: rehearsals, travel days, gear depreciation, insurance, agent or marketplace fees, and tax. Underpaying isn't a bargain — it's why your booking gets dropped when something better comes in.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Should I tell artists my budget upfront?
Yes. Honest budgets get honest quotes and save days of back-and-forth. If your budget is genuinely flexible, give a range.
Does the StageSide booking fee come out of the artist's pocket or mine?
StageSide charges a 5% platform fee on confirmed bookings. See [Pricing](/pricing) for the current breakdown.
When do I pay?
A 20–50% deposit confirms the booking. The balance is typically paid before or on the day of the event.
Is haggling acceptable?
A polite ask is fine — "Is there flexibility at £X all-in?" Anything below 20% off the quote is usually a no. Repeated haggling damages the relationship.
