Dr. Asha de Vos is known as a Marine Biologist, Ocean Educator and Blue Whale Conservationist, with experience spanning conservation, sustainability and the natural world. Asha de Vos is a Sri Lankan marine biologist, ocean educator, and pioneer of blue whale research within the northern Indian Ocean. She has degrees from the University of St Andrews, the University of Oxford, and the University of Western Australia, and is the Founder & Executive Director of her own non-profit, Oceanswell. As Sri Lanka’s first marine conservation research and education organisation, Oceanswell is home to the well-known Sri Lankan Blue Whale Project, the first long-term study on blue whales in the region. De Vos’s work has been showcased in key research publications and internationally by Channel 7 Australia, the BBC, CNN, New York Times, Wired UK, New Scientist, and National Geographic, among others.
