Lionel De Lange is known as a Wildlife Rescuer, Humanitarian and Warriors of Wildlife Founder, with experience spanning conservation, sustainability and the natural world. Lionel De Lange is an internationally recognised wild animal rescuer, humanitarian and founder of Warriors of Wildlife (WOW) and the Simbonga Wildlife Sanctuary in South Africa. After witnessing the devastating conditions of a Ukrainian zoo in 2014, Lionel left his corporate career behind and dedicated his life to humanitarian and wild & domestic animal rescuing in the war-torn region. Since then, he has orchestrated numerous high-risk rescue missions, most notably evacuating lions, bears and other endangered species from Ukraine to safety, often under the threat of active bombardment. With an unshakable commitment to his rescue missions and conservation, Lionel has become among the world’s most courageous voices for wildlife protection in conflict zones.
