How to Get Repeat Corporate Bookings as an Artist

Repeat corporate bookings come from three habits: a same-week thank-you with two photos, next-year's date pencilled in on the day of the event, and an invoice that names the exact person who signed off. Do all three and 40% of one-offs become annuals.

The same-week thank-you

Within 5 days: short email to the booker, two photos from the night, and one line: "Same slot next year — want me to pencil the date?" Simple, but almost no acts do it.

Pencil the anchor date

Corporate Christmas parties, summer parties and awards run on the same calendar week every year. Ask on the night: "Second Friday of December every year — should I hold it?" Then diary it.

Name the sign-off on the invoice

Invoice referencing the specific person ("Booked by Sarah Chen, Head of People, referred by Marketing team"). When Sarah moves jobs, your name goes with her, and when she leaves you know to reach out to her replacement.

The 90-day check-in

Three months after the event, drop a line with something specific: a new piece of promo, a testimonial from a similar client, or an availability slot. Not a pitch — a gentle stay-in-touch.

"The acts I book every year aren't the best musicians on my list. They're the ones who make my job easier."

FAQ

Frequently asked

How soon should I follow up after a corporate gig?
Within 5 working days, with photos. After 3 weeks the moment is gone.
Should I ask for a testimonial?
Yes — 48 hours after the event, when it's freshest. Give them 2–3 bullet points to make it easy.
Should I discount for repeat clients?
No — hold the rate, offer added value instead (extra set, upgraded PA, early arrival).
Do LinkedIn connections help?
Yes, but only to the individual booker, never to the whole team. Personal relationship > company relationship.
What if the booker leaves the company?
Ideal — they'll book you at their new company. Follow them on LinkedIn.
