What the fee covers
- Escrow — your money is held until after the event
- Digital contract — signed by both sides
- Dispute resolution — admin review if something goes wrong
- Verified profiles and reviews
- Payment processing (card fees pass through)
Compared to agency commission
Traditional booking agencies typically charge 15–25% commission to the client, the artist, or both. StageSide's 5% platform fee sits well below that, and unlike commissions, it's transparent — you see the exact breakdown before you pay.
What happens if a booking is cancelled
- Booker cancels: StageSide retains 2.5% + non-refundable card fees
- Artist cancels: StageSide waives its fee (except non-refundable card fees) and you're refunded
- Dispute: funds held until admin resolution
Why show it on the artist's profile
You see the total "bookers pay" number the moment you enter the fee. No surprises at checkout. Artists set their number, and the platform shows both sides exactly what will hit each account.
"The best booking fees are the ones you understand before you pay — not after."
